PollHut is an application that makes creating, sharing and participating in polls simple. Polls are hosted on the PollHut platform and are organized into categories such as Computers, Current Events, Entertainment, Sports and Lifestyle. Categories are further broken down into sub-categories, making the browsing of polls a simple thing to do for the casual observer. Recent and popular polls are hosted on the PollHut homepage as well. Polls can be created and there can be a number of choices that users can select. Participants in the poll can also leave comments on their thoughts of the subject or the poll's results. Users can also re-tweet or re-post a poll onto Twitter or Facebook as well. Tags can also be added to a poll so that participants can quickly find a poll based on a tag-word. Users need to register for an account on PollHut to both post polls and to participate in them. Every poll shows how many votes have been submitted, a break down by percentage for each answer and any user comments are listed as well. Overall, PollHut is a simple application that does polling pretty well. As of April 2012, the service is free too.Show more screenshots »
PollHut is a London-based operation. PollHut appears to have come on the scene in early 2012, and is a growing site. At this time, there isn't much information about them available online.
Pollhut.com was shut down in 2012.
There are other poll creation and participation sites out there like Strutta and SurveyMonkey. These sites are more comprehensive and established and have more features than what PollHut offers.
PollHut has a simple user interface for creating and participating in polls. Users can quickly setup a poll and then see how many people view the poll questions and how many vote and their results. The polls are listed in logical categories. The only issue is that the site is growing, so there aren't very many polls being hosted. Also polls can only be shared by a URL, and they cannot be embedded into one's Twitter since the embed link URL's are often too long to be tweeted.
PollHut appears to be free. It is a bit confusing since PollHut's Terms of Service mention all sorts of Affiliate Fees, Escrow accounts and more. None of this seems to be in line with creating polls, and there is no pricing page on the site. Overall, their pricing seems to be free, but there's some strange fine print.
For those who are looking to generate a poll and who want to solicit feedback from the public or from a number of specific individuals, PollHut may be a viable solution. However, there are other apps that do this that seem to do a much better job of it.
